This position reports directly to the Principal. A successful candidate possesses the ability to grow and develop as a professional and to support Cornerstone’s mission. Aftercare Teachers

K4 – 5th Grade | Woodlawn | Part-time

Cornerstone School is seeking excellent Aftercare Program Teachers, who have a strong commitment to academic excellence and who are motivated to inspire student success.  Aftercare workers will work to support the Aftercare Director. They are responsible for supervising children in the aftercare program. Candidates must pass a background check. Experience is desirable but not required.

Child Nutrition Program Assitant

Cornerstone School is seeking an excellent full-time CNP Associate, who is motivated to inspire student success. Applicants should have cooking experience, the ability to work independently as well as with a team, the ability to be punctual and in regular attendance, and hold a Jefferson County Food Handlers Card. Candidates should also hold a Serv Safe Certificate or have the ability to obtain one.

Substitute Teacher

Elementary & High School Campus | Woodlawn & Roebuck

Cornerstone School is seeking excellent substitute teachers at our Woodlawn and Roebuck campuses. The substitute teacher will help to create an encouraging learning environment for students while their teacher is absent. The substitute teacher will need to effectively manage and instruct the class. It is required that substitutes have a minimum of an associate’s degree and the ability to complete a background check.

Some of the duties and responsibilities include:

Follow lesson plans provided by the regular Teacher to create a cohesive and consistent learning experience for students.

Manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation, minimize distractions and maintain a positive learning environment.

Supervise students in and out of the classroom, including in the halls, and on the playground.

Provide in-class and at-home assignments based on the available lesson plan.

A strong candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Ability to lead and instruct students of all ages.

General knowledge of several subjects.

Ability to adapt plans to specific classrooms.

Flexibility and critical-thinking skills.

Patience.
