Week 3: Joy (2025)

Christ the Cornerstone of Joy
Advent reminds us that God has been at work through every generation, preparing the way for a Savior who would bring true joy. God promised that one day the world would rejoice through the coming of His Son, and this week we reflect on the joy that grows when we trust His faithfulness.
We see this joy in the story of Abraham and Sarah found in Genesis. They were far beyond the age of having children, yet God promised them a son named Isaac, a name that means laughter. Their situation seemed impossible, and they wondered how God could fulfill such a promise. Many of us know that feeling. We wonder how joy can rise in the middle of challenges that feel too heavy. Yet we are reminded in scripture that God does not forget His promises, and He brings joy from places that seem unlikely.
As Christmas draws near, we remember that God continued to work through every twist and turn of history until the moment was right for His Son to enter the world. The joy that began in a quiet town in Bethlehem is the same joy offered to us today. Jesus came so that all who believe in Him would know forgiveness, hope, and a joy that lasts. May this week open our hearts to that joy and remind us that God is always faithful.
For you, O Lord, have made me glad by your work; at the works of your hands IÂ sing for joy. Psalm 92:4uke 2:14
