Christmas Eve: See the Light
By Jacob May, Cornerstone Bible Teacher
“I have come as a light to shine in this dark world, so that all who put their trust in me will no longer remain in the dark.”
John 12:46
Riding through town at Christmas time is a joyful spectacle to witness. No other time of year do we see lights like we do in December. Street lamps are adorned with holiday decorations and strings of light brightly decorate store fronts. Everywhere we turn, we see holly jolly illuminations glowing in the night.
As I view all the bright, twinkling lights, my heart is warmly lit with joy. I am reminded of what the writer of John 1:5 says, “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” What a reminder! The birth of Jesus Christ brought light into a dark world. He is the greatest gift we have ever received.
Where ever you go this weekend, admire the lights all around you. Be reminded that Christ is here, He is the light of the world!
For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
