Cornerstone Elementary Aftercare Program

Cornerstone Schools of Alabama Elementary School is excited to resume Aftercare as a service to a limited number of our families. This service will be provided for selected families that need childcare each day after school on a daily basis.  Any interested family may submit an application for review.

**Please note that we are unable to provide aftercare to students enrolled in Pre-K due to DHR licensing requirements. 

Frequently Asked Questions

Aftercare at Cornerstone Elementary School is scheduled from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM every day when school is in session for a full-day. After care is not offered on early dismissal days, teacher professional development days, holidays, severe weather days, or when school is closed.

Aftercare is only available through a monthly reservation plan for selected families. Drop-in service is not offered.

The entire Aftercare fee must be prepaid before the 1st of every month (July and August will be regarded as one month and payment is due prior to Thursday, July 25, 2024). Any family with an unpaid Aftercare fee will not be allowed to participate and will be required to pick up children at 3:00 dismissal instead of attending Aftercare.  Fees will appear on the monthly billing statement. No partial payments will be accepted.

An additional fee of $1.00 per minute will be assessed for families of any students who are not picked-up by the 6:00 PM dismissal time.  Late pick-up fees must be paid before students return to Aftercare.  If we do not receive communication from a late parent, the local law enforcement agency will be called after 30 minutes to arrange for the child’s supervision. Notification by a parent of being late does not negate payment of the late pick-up fee except for circumstances outside of your control. Habitual tardiness in picking up children will result in their dismissal. 

The Aftercare fee is $150.00 per student per month.  There is no discount for families with multiple children.

Every family wishing to be considered for participation must apply by completing an Aftercare Application and paying a $50 Family Application fee. This fee will be refunded if the family is not chosen to participate.
