The Gift of Love

In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him.

If you are anything like me, you enjoy picking out the perfect gifts to give at Christmas. It is a way I can share my love and thoughtfulness with the people I care about. Seeing the smiling faces of my family opening gifts I have given fills my heart with joy!
I am not the only dad who delights in gift giving, so does our Heavenly Father! Throughout the Bible, we read examples of how God shared his love since the beginning of creation. During the season of Advent, we anticipate the birth of Christ Jesus, God’s greatest gift of all!
As you finish your Christmas preparations, remember this: One of the best gifts you can give is love. Consider praying with or for your friends and neighbors, giving the Crock Pot Hot Chocolate Recipe to someone who could use a little Christmas cheer, or sending a handwritten card reminding someone they are loved. Embrace the season, and don’t miss the opportunity to share God’s love this Christmas!
