Week 1: Hope

And the angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy— the Son of God.”
Luke 1:35

Happy Advent! In this season, we are reminded of the hope and assurance we have that God will fulfill all his promises through the birth of Jesus.

At Cornerstone, the anticipation of Christmas is all around us. Decorations are going up, students are making Christmas art, and carols can be heard throughout the day. What a privilege it is to be in a school who celebrates Jesus not only at Christmas but every day.

How wonderful to see the hope of the coming Christ lived out through the eyes of children. A child full of hope, excitement, and joy in Jesus demonstrates childlike faith. Some way we see our children demonstrate is trusting in the Lord, asking questions to learn more, receiving His word. Most of all, children celebrate His wonder! You can do these things too!

During this season of Advent, the four weeks leading up to Christmas, we wait with great anticipation for the arrival of Christ Jesus, the promised Savior: “Behold, I send my messenger, and the messenger of the covenant in whom you delight; behold, he is coming, says the Lord of hosts.”
Malachi 3:1

As you prepare for Christmas, we invite you to reflect upon God’s one special gift, the birth of a Savior.
And now, O Lord, for what do I wait? My hope is in you.
Psalm 39:7
