Cornerstone Students Spreading the Gospel

Jesus said, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.” 
Mark 16:15

Here at Cornerstone, we are amazed how our students share God’s word with one another. This year, a second-grade class partnered with a kindergarten class to provide each student with a reading buddy. Rayshad, a second-grader, was paired with Sofia, a kindergarten student. Rayshad was confident in his choice to read the Jesus Storybook Bible. Through stories from the Old Testament and the New Testament, readers and listeners clearly see Jesus as the center of God’s great story of salvation and how it applies to them. 

Rayshad shares that he “loves to learn about all the things God has done for His people.” He explains, “Whenever I read to someone, I always choose this book because it is the best book for them to listen to. I want people to always take something with them about who God is to us.”  Rayshad encourages Sofia to always take away a main idea from the story they read each Friday. 

Rayshad’s favorite story in the book is called, The Captain of the Storm. “I’ve learned that we don’t have to be afraid. I hear about a lot of people being afraid today. I love to help others understand that they don’t have to be afraid when they trust in Jesus, like the disciples did in that story. The words in this book are the words of God. They are letting us know that we are loved forever.”

Rayshad’s goal is to go through the entire Jesus Storybook Bible with Sofia by the end of the year. Rayshad is one of many students who exemplifies how we truly are excellent together. By sharing the Gospel, Rayshad is teaching Sofia about God’s salvation through Jesus and how he loves us.
