Birmingham, AL – The 13th Annual Schoolhouse Rock is expected to top the charts again benefiting the students of Cornerstone Schools of Alabama. The live music and online silent auction event is set for a new venue this year on Friday, March 9th at Regions Field from 7:00 – 11:00 p.m. Ard Contracting, C.S. Beatty Construction, Drummond Company, and Marcia and Billy Strickland are the 2018 presenting sponsors.

Schoolhouse Rock is an annual fundraiser hosted by Cornerstone School’s Junior Board and has become one the school’s most successful events. Over the years, the event has grown to more than 1,000 guests and has raised over $1.2 million for Cornerstone’s students in the past 12 years.

“The Cornerstone Junior Board is excited to make this year the best Schoolhouse Rock event yet,” said Junior Board President Walter Kelley. “We all truly believe in Cornerstone’s kingdom purpose and love to see it thrive.”

Cornerstone Schools of Alabama is a non-profit Christian school dedicated to serving Birmingham’s inner city children. The school’s enrollment has increased 98% over the past five years and now serves more than 530 students in grades K4 through 12.

“Cornerstone has seen abundant growth because the Birmingham community believes and invests in the mission of our school,” said Cornerstone President Dr. Nita Carr. “Lives are being changed every day and we’re grateful for the amazing supporters that help us in our mission for generational change in the city of Birmingham.”

Guests can look forward to a night of live music by 2nd Coming Band, an online silent auction, cocktails, heavy hors d’oeuvres, and fun event giveaways. Tickets are $50 per person in advance and can be purchased online at EducateBirmingham.org or at the door on the night of the event for $55 per person.
