Birmingham, AL- Schoolhouse Rock is back for another great year of fundraising benefiting students of Cornerstone Schools of Alabama. Barber Companies, C.S. Beatty Construction, and Strickland Trading are the presenting sponsors. The event is set for Friday, March 10th at Iron City Birmingham from 7:00 – 11:00 p.m.

Schoolhouse Rock is an annual fundraiser hosted by Cornerstone School’s Junior Board and has become one the school’s most successful events. Over the years, the event has grown from 300 to over 1,000 guests and has raised more than $1.2 million for Cornerstone’s students in the past 11 years. The 2016 event was voted Best of Birmingham in About Town Magazine.

“Schoolhouse Rock has grown each year because the Birmingham community believes in the mission of Cornerstone School,” said Junior Board President Maggie Cornelius. “Lives are being changed every day at the school.”

Cornerstone Schools of Alabama is a non-profit Christian school dedicated to serving Birmingham’s inner city children. The school’s enrollment has increased 88% over the last five years and now serves over 500 students in grades K4 through 12th.

“The mission and work of Cornerstone would not be possible without our generous community friends and partners,” explained Cornerstone President Dr. Nita Carr. “Schoolhouse Rock is one of the ways we are able to continue to provide a world-class, Christ-centered education to our students.”

Event goers can look forward to a night of live music by the Billy Gant Band, a live and silent auction, beverages, hors d’oeuvres, and fun event giveaways. General admission tickets to Schoolhouse Rock are $50 per person in advance and $55 at the door.
