Eagle Scout Builds Cubbies to Protect Backpacks from Rain

September 4, 2018
A new wooden structure is on the main playground. These beautiful new cubbies are for students to use for storing their backpacks and things while they are outside, primarily after school.  An Eagle Scout, Chip Porter, came out one afternoon when it was raining and noticed all of the wet backpacks scattered on the ground and wanted to create a solution. Chip and his dad, Adam, have been at Cornerstone almost every weekend over the past month and a half,  working tirelessly to complete these cubbies as a new addition for our students.

A big thank you to Chip for all of his hard work in making improvements to our playground for the students at Cornerstone! We could not fulfill our vision without volunteers like Chip and his dad, and we are so grateful for the contribution.
