Zoei Fisher, a 9th grade student at Cornerstone Schools of Alabama,  was selected to participate in the elite WGA Caddie Academy, which provides summer caddie opportunity to high school students with the end goal of receiving an Evans Scholarship.

Zoei will join students from across the United States to caddie at clubs in the Chicago area. During this time, she will be mentored by current Evans Scholars. This program is extremely competitive nationwide, and Cornerstone is honored to have Zoei be the first participant from the state of Alabama.

Participants are chosen during their freshman year based on outstanding academics, leadership, and character. With a 4.27 GPA and standout character, Zoei fits those qualifications to a tee.

“Zoei put a great deal of effort into conveying their individual stories in their essays,” said Will Fagan, an English teacher at Cornerstone Schools of Alabama. “Her diligence, work effort, and overall academic ability gives me absolute confidence that she will soar throughout the rest of her time at Cornerstone and on into her college career. It came as no surprise to me that she was awarded this opportunity and is absolutely deserving of it.”

Through the Caddie Academy, students have the chance to earn money, meet role models, and learn invaluable life lessons on the golf course. After successfully completing three summers, they become eligible to apply for the Evans Scholarship, a full tuition and housing college scholarship. In addition to caddying, Zoei will take part in special activities including attending a professional baseball game, educational field trips, career talks, and standardized testing training.

“I am so excited about this opportunity,” said Zoei Fisher, Cornerstone’s 9th grade recipient. “I’m looking forward to meeting new people and getting to experience a lot of the cool things they are doing through the Caddie Academy.”

Zoei is Cornerstone’s first participant in the WGA Caddie Academy. She is paving the way for many more Cornerstone students to participate in the program for years to come.

“We are honored to be represented by Zoei in her pursuit towards receiving the Evans College Scholarship,” said Dedrick Agee, Principal at Cornerstone’s Upper School campus. “The Cornerstone family is incredibly proud of Zoei and we’re excited to see how God will use her during her time in the program.”
